Restaurant Story

Christmas Island Steakhouse opened July 1, 1967. Built and owned by Philip Roux who also built and owned Christmas Island Resort. The Steakhouse has become a local landmark and favorite dining establishment. In 1994, the North Pole Tavern was built to bring the restaurant “up to date” with the social trends of the era. Today, it continues to be an independent family owned restaurant, tavern and function facility serving the best food and drinks to the people of the Lakes Region and it’s host of summer visitors. Now owned by Doug and Peggy Landry, Christmas Island Steakhouse has been upgraded and transformed to the Steakhouse at Christmas Island. The Steakhouse welcomes all with open arms and empty stomachs!
